The British Society of Gastroenterology (BSG) and the Association of Upper Gastrointestinal Surgeons of Great Britain and Ireland (AUGIS) have jointly released their first position statement on quality standards in upper gastrointestinal endoscopy to improve quality of diagnostic endoscopy and to optimize early diagnosis of upper GI diseases and reduce the risk for missed cancer. These recommendations are published online August 18, 2017 in the journal Gut.
